toki

We post-celebrated my uncle's birthday at Toki. One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants here in Metro Manila! Lately, my cravings for Japanese food has intensified to the point that I go to Japanese restaurants every weekend!

I love the very fancy dolls that they have there.
It makes the restaurant have the authentic Japanese ambiance!

A trip to a Japanese restaurant would be incomplete if you don't
order Sashimi (raw food)

Ajitataki (Mackerel Tataki)

Tuna Sashimi

Salmon Sashimi

Hamachi

Uni Sashimi (Sea Urchin)

California Maki

  Ebi Tempura

Dashimaki Tamago (Omelet with Eel)

Wagyu Beef Tataki

Ikageso Kara Age (Squid legs/tentacles)

Hamachi Kama (Grilled Yellowtail)
This is so delicious. I don't regret getting a slice of this. The
Yellowtail was so fresh!

Chicken Teriyaki
This is the best Chicken Teriyaki I've ever eaten.
This dish is a MUST!

buddha bar

Buddha Bar is a franchise business from Paris, France and originally opened by Raymond Visan. The bar can be found in of course, Paris, Cairo, Caracas, Dubai, Jakarta, Kiev, London, Monte Carlo, Mexico, Prague and Washington. In God's grace, Buddha Bar can also be found here in the Metro! The founder, Raymond Visan, first opened a bar that goes by the name Barfly (opened 1995) and finally, the Buddha Bar (opened 1996). He is also referred to as the "Master of creating hip and upscale nightclubs"! The bar is known for playing exotic music and for it's high-end cuisine. With it's Asian-inspired interior, cozy sofas and dim lights, I'm sure that you'll have a blast there just like I did!

I got invited to the launching of the bar a week ago. At first, I hesitated to go since I wasn't of legal age yet. But after minutes of thinking, I finally agreed to attend the launching of Buddha Bar.

After days and days of waiting, the day finally arrived. The launching was on a Thursday, and I actually had school the following day but I didn't care! I just really had to attend it since it would be my first time to go to a bar!

We got there the same time as the vice president, Jejomar Binay, arrived for the ribbon cutting. Such a coincidence, isn't it?

The place was so packed that night!

The drinks area.. Where the lavishing drinks of Buddha Bar
are concocted.

The launching kicks-off with an opening number!

And finally, the host, Bianca Valerio, wearing a
Chris Diaz gown from Myth!

For dinner, they serve finger foods. Namely...

The Buddha Bar salad

Tempura with dip (Unfortunately, I wasn't able to ask what they
call the dip since I was too busy munching on it!)

nihonbashi tei

We were supposed to eat in Seryna but it was fully booked. So, we decided to try Nihonbashi Tei. I must truthfully say that the ambiance isn't quite what I expected. It's more of the you-eat-then-go-right-away restaurant. Before we reached the restaurant, we dropped by Makati Shangri-La first. While we were there, my dad and I had enough time to take some goofy pictures and laugh around!

      My dad with his iPhone.

I don't look okay in this picture but I like the
color of my hair here! LOL!

Time to get serious. I can't wait to dish about the food in Nihonbashi Tei!

Their California Maki is so scrumptious..

Their Hamachi is the freshest that I've ever tried. Seriously.

Uni Sashimi!!

Their salmon is... *I'm speechleess*

And now, I present to you the main course!

Ebi Tempura

I only took a few bites since I'm not a huge fan of Beef Teppanyaki.
Although my taste buds approve the dish!

Kakiage Tempura

(From L-R) Tori Nankotsu (soft chicken bone), Sunagimo (gizzard)
Tori Kawa (chicken skin) and Shouniku (chicken)

Una Jyu! I do not regret ordering this. It's the most succulent Unagi
Rice I've ever tasted!

The Japanese fried rice my parents ordered. I didn't get to taste it
but my dad said it was good!

The facade of the restaurant that I've been craving for in months!

ganso-shabuway

Sorry for the sudden hiatus! There wasn't really anything to blog about these past few days. Anyhow, I want to share how my trip to Ganso-Shabuway went. Ganso-Shabuway is a Japanese hotpot restaurant. I am not a huge fan of hotpots / shabu-shabu since I don't really like soups. But my mom wanted to try the restaurant, so, I just went with the flow.

I didn't try the sauce but my mom said it made the
food yummier.

I think this is the.... Kobe beef. Or the Angus! LOL!

Er... The soup was bland.

home cooked meals

I can't believe that it's only Tuesday.. I also can't believe that it's minimum day on Thursday, and there's no classes on Friday. There are some times that I can say I love my school. Anyhow, I would like to share what we had for dinner today. It was a very bountiful dinner, I must say!

My mom's very yummy Beef Salpicao!

Chicken Inasal grilled by our cook.

And of course, dinner would be incomplete without
any vegetables!

For dessert... I have... CADBURY HEROES!
Want to know what's inside? Check the next picture!

Tadaaaaaaa! A round tin can with chocolate overflowing!

Close up of Cadbury Heroes!

The candy/chocolate/cake/cookie monster is about to dig in!

I get two. Yes, only two.

Unfortunately, it was too sweet. I only ate half!

*footnote: If I say it's too sweet, it only means one thing.. It means that it's out-of-this-world sweet! Trust me, I'm a sucker for sweets.
